" The Box Canyon Fishing Trip"

Beautiful!
Foggy and scary icy roads!
Kevin's big one

In his element..this kid could not stop smiling..he would stay all day if it was up to him, ou have to rip him off the river at the end of the day!
One of Brians white fish..he didn't want pictures taken of him...so this is the best one i did get.
My hole
Look at the size of that fish, His jaw was huge!..as you can tell Kay is peeing his waiters!
THE BEAUTIFUL BEAST!

Brookie..look how neat their bottom fins are!
COLD..
A big one i caught right before we left

This fish was my fattest..i couldn't put my hand around his belly to get him out of the net! he was a fighter!

My boots froze after sitting in the back of the car over there for 30 mins..i mean frozen solid!

Your eyelets freeze like ever five casts

It has become a tradition to go the weekend before thanksgiving to west Yellowstone on the border or Montana and Idaho near island park...it's called the box canyon and oh is it fun...big fish and lots of them. This year we did not have near as many people come as usual but we got me and Kay and his uncle and cousin...Brian and Kevin..all boys again! o well. The first day was cold but not too bad...about 20-25 degrees..we all were catching fish and i found a hole that i caught almost all my fish at. Kev got his big one that day..we fished from about 10-5 and then headed back to the room, got in the hot tub to warm up, ate at Bullwinkle's as always...and went passed out at 9:00. The second day we woke up to a few inches of snow...and it was freezing! we loaded up and headed over there and found the roads to be pure ice(apparently they don't plow there) it was very slow and slippers, and did i mention foggy..couldn't see. cars were flying past us and we just knew one would be a off to the side soon...and sure enough we pull up on tons of police and life flight..a truck flipped over and was n the ditch..they had to cut back the front cab(scary). But we got there ok..about 10 degrees and very snowy and cold. We got there both days and our water bottles had frozen solid from the 30 mn drive over! The river was so beautiful with all the snow! I wish i had a video of me trying to get all my gear on i was like the little brother on a Christmas story i had so many layers on i could barley move, Kay had to put on my shoes and stuff!..but i was warm for the most part. This day i wore more than normal and had a hard time walking, tripped in the river fell and hit my knee on a rock!and it hurt bad! I caught all rainbows or brookies(which were beautiful) and only one white fish, i also caught a huge rainbow but dropped him trying to get a picture! bummer! Fished all day and Kayson on his last fishing hole caught the biggest, prettiest rainbow i had ever seen come out of there!..we had a great time! can't wait for next year!
